BID Huntingdon Town Ambassador

The Town Ambassador role is a large part of the work that BID Huntingdon deliver since February 2013.

The Ambassador role is very diverse and no week is the same. The core responsibility of the role is to regularly engage with businesses in the business improvement area and promote BID projects and events. Additionally she provides an ambassadorial presence in the town centre by assisting visitors with directions and tourist information.

The Town Ambassador also acts as eyes and ears for other agencies such as the Police and Councils, throughout the day she will patrol the streets of the town centre and report ASB, cleaning and maintenance issues. The Ambassador is equipped with a HBAC (Huntingdonshire Businesses Against Crime) radio, which connect them to the Town Centre CCTV Operations allowing them to report ASB concerns and share intelligence regarding retail crime to shops. She also has access to first aid equipment which allows her to provide immediate emergency first aid to members of the public before an ambulance arrives.
