Huntingdonshire Business Against Crime
Huntingdonshire Business Against Crime (HBAC), established in 2004, operates in Huntingdon, St Ives and St Neots and aims to reduce members’ losses and thereby contribute to the economic viability and prosperity of the area.
Huntingdonshire Business Against Crime is run by businesses for businesses and operates in Huntingdon, St Ives and St Neots. The membership adopts a proactive approach to preventing and reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.
HBAC members include local businesses, as well as small, large, national and international charities, and local groups. This includes HBAC Partner members — Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Huntingdonshire Community Safety Partnership at Huntingdonshire District Council, Huntingdon Town Council and BID Huntingdon.
Day-to-day management of HBAC, and the members’ first point of contact, is via the HBAC team, consisting of a part-time manager and a part-time co-ordinator.
Aims and objectives
- Collate and manage intelligence information which is shared with HBAC members
- Promote initiatives to reduce crime, the fear of crime, and anti-social behaviour
- Coordinate information to assist in the apprehension and prosecution of suspected offenders
- Reduce members’ losses and thereby contribute to the economic viability and prosperity of the area.
